Caller ID Display and Privacy Configuration for Outbound

Control how your number appears on outbound calls by adjusting privacy preferences, caller ID presentation, and hold time announcement settings.

Table of Contents

Purpose

This feature manages how your caller identification is displayed to external recipients during outbound calls. Caller ID and privacy options enable you to reveal or mask your number, define how it appears, and comply with privacy preferences at both organizational and user levels. This ensures calls reflect the right display identity while maintaining security where needed.

How to Navigate

Log in to the 2talk portal. Then, go to:
SwitchBoard | Outbound | Caller ID & Privacy section.

Caller ID & Privacy Settings

When making outbound calls, you can choose how your Caller ID is displayed:

  • A Number on My Account: Use any phone number associated with your account as the outgoing Caller ID.
  • My Number: Display your own assigned number as the Caller ID.
  • Block My Number: Hide your Caller ID, making your outbound calls anonymous.

Optional Feature: Caller ID Announcement

Enable an announcement that plays back to you when dialing out with shortcode keys (*65 or *67). This confirmation helps ensure you know whether your number is being shown or hidden before the call connects.

Useful if you frequently switch between displaying your number and placing anonymous calls.

How to Configure

  • Set the Present option to “My number” or other available caller ID options
  • Configure Announce Hold Time using the toggle switch
  • Enable or disable privacy features as needed
  • Select the preferred caller ID presentation format
  • Click SAVE to apply changes
  • Run a test outbound call to confirm the caller ID presentation
