This guide explains how to resolve issues with refurbished or older Yealink phones. By formatting the device, all previous configurations are cleared, returning the phone to its default state. Alternatively, upgrading to the latest supported firmware improves compatibility and restores stable functionality.
You can format the phone directly using the keypad or perform a firmware upgrade through the phone’s IP address in a web browser.
Make sure the phone is powered on.
Locate the OK button on the keypad.
Press and hold the OK button for 10 seconds.
When prompted, select Yes to confirm formatting.
The phone will reboot and return to default settings.
Press OK to display the phone’s IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.xx).
Enter the IP address into your browser (e.g., http://192.168.1.xx).
Log in with Username: admin | Password: admin.
Navigate to Settings > Upgrade.
Upload the latest firmware file and apply the update.
