Cisco ATA SPA-2102

Configure a Cisco or Linksys SPA-2102 ATA to connect analog phones or fax devices to 2talk.

The Cisco/Linksys SPA-2102 is an analog telephone adapter with two phone ports. Use it to connect analog phones or fax devices to 2talk.

Before you start

  • Connect the SPA-2102 to power and to your network.
  • Connect an analog phone to the adapter.
  • Have the 2talk phone number and SIP password ready.

Open the web interface

  1. Dial ****110# from the phone connected to the adapter.
  2. Write down the IP address read back by the adapter.
  3. Enter that IP address in a browser on the same network.
  4. Select Admin Login, then select Advanced.

Line settings

Open the line tab for the phone port you want to register, then enter these settings.

  • Line Enable: yes
  • Proxy: plus.2talk.com
  • Outbound Proxy: plus.2talk.com
  • Use Outbound Proxy: yes
  • Register: yes
  • Register Expires: 180
  • Display Name: The user or location name
  • User ID: Full 2talk phone number, such as 13105551234
  • Password: The SIP password for the number
  • Auth ID: Full 2talk phone number

NAT settings

  • NAT Mapping Enable: yes
  • NAT Keep Alive Enable: yes

Fax settings

For a fax line, use fax.2talk.com as the proxy and outbound proxy. T.38 support depends on the device firmware, fax machine, and line configuration.

Factory reset

If the adapter has old settings, reset it before provisioning:

  1. Dial **** from the phone connected to the adapter.
  2. Dial 73738#.
  3. Press 1 to confirm.

After saving your settings, reboot the adapter and confirm that the line registers successfully.
