Connect a VoIP Handset

Connect a SIP VoIP handset to 2talk through device provisioning or manual SIP configuration.

A VoIP handset connects to 2talk over the internet using SIP. You can connect supported phones with device provisioning or manually enter SIP settings on the phone.

Before you start

  • Confirm that the phone supports SIP/IP telephony.
  • Have the phone’s MAC address ready.
  • Choose the 2talk number that will use the device.
  • Connect the phone to power and the network.

Provision a supported phone

Device provisioning is available for supported Yealink and Polycom handsets.

  1. Log in to your 2talk account.
  2. Go to Tools > Device Provisioning.
  3. Click Add Device.
  4. Select the phone number to assign to the device.
  5. Enter the device name, MAC address, time zone, and other required details.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Restart the handset so it can download its configuration.

Use manual configuration

If your handset is not supported by device provisioning, configure it manually with the generic SIP registration settings for your number.
