Generic SIP Configuration for Registration

Use generic SIP registration settings to connect IP phones, ATAs, softphones, or PBX systems to 2talk.

Use these settings to register a standards-compliant SIP device with 2talk, including IP phones, ATAs, softphones, and IP PBX systems.

SIP registration settings

  • SIP Server / Proxy: plus.2talk.com
  • Username / Account ID / Authentication ID: Full 2talk phone number, such as 13106341786
  • Password: The SIP password for the number
  • Transport: TLS recommended; UDP supported
  • Port: 5061 for TLS or 5060 for UDP
  • Register with proxy: Yes
  • Make calls without registration: No
  • Registration expiry: 180 seconds, if configurable

Codec settings

Use PCMU (G.711 u-law) first for best results in the United States. Other supported codecs may include PCMA (G.711 A-law), G.722, GSM, and G.729.

Use TLS with SRTP if your device supports encrypted signaling and media.
