Active Calls Controls

Use Web App active call controls to answer, mute, hold, transfer, record, merge, and manage calls.

Active call controls in the Web App let you place calls, answer calls, mute, hold, transfer, record, merge, and manage multiple calls from one interface.

Check number registration

The phone button shows whether your active numbers are registered and ready to call.

  • Green: All active numbers are registered.
  • Yellow: Some active numbers are not registered. Hover over the indicator to see details.
  • Red: All active numbers are unregistered.

Click the status indicator to open number settings and manage registration.

Call from the keypad

  1. Log in to the Web App.
  2. Confirm that at least one number is active under Menu Settings > Settings > Phone.
  3. Click the Phone button in the upper right corner.
  4. Dial or type the number. You can also search for a contact.
  5. Click the green phone button to start the call.
  6. Click the red phone button to end the call.

Call from a chat

  1. Open Directory from the left menu.
  2. Select the contact you want to call.
  3. Click Call in the chat header.
  4. Click the red phone button to end the call.

Mute a call

Muting turns off your microphone. You can still hear the other person.

  1. During an active call, click the Microphone icon.
  2. Click the Microphone icon again to unmute.

Place a call on hold

  1. During an active call, click the Pause icon.
  2. Click the Play icon to resume the call.

Transfer a call

You can transfer a call immediately or speak with the recipient first.

Ask First transfer

  1. During an active call, click Transfer.
  2. Search for a contact or enter a number.
  3. Select Ask First.
  4. Wait for the recipient to answer.
  5. Click Hang up and transfer to complete the transfer.
  6. Click Back to and hang up to return to the original call without transferring.

If the recipient does not answer or declines, return to the original call.

Transfer Now

  1. During an active call, click Transfer.
  2. Search for a contact or enter a number.
  3. Select Transfer Now.

Use the in-call keypad

Use the keypad during a call for menu prompts, auto attendants, PINs, or extension dialing.

  1. During an active call, click the Keypad icon.
  2. Click the digits you need.

Record a call

  1. During an active call, click the Record icon.
  2. Click the Record icon again to stop recording.
  3. Save the recording file when prompted.

Start a new call

You can start another call while one is active. Existing calls are placed on hold when the new call starts.

  1. During an active call, click New Call.
  2. Search for a contact or enter a number.
  3. Start the new call.
  4. End the new call, return to the previous call, or merge the calls.

Merge calls

Merge combines active calls into one conversation.

  1. Start a new call or answer a concurrent incoming call.
  2. Click Merge.
  3. All merged participants can hear and speak to each other.

If more than three people are in the call, hover over avatars or numbers to view participant details.

Minimize the call window

  1. During an active call, click the Dock icon.
  2. The phone icon on the main page shows the call duration.
  3. Click the green phone icon to reopen the call window.

Manage multiple active calls

When two or more calls are active, the phone icon shows the number of active calls instead of the duration.

  • Right-click the green phone button to view active calls.
  • Select a call to focus the keypad on that call.
  • Click the hang-up icon to end a selected call quickly.

Presence

Presence shows whether directory contacts are on a call. If a contact has an incoming call, you may see a red blinking icon that lets you pick up the call.

View call records

  1. Click Activity.
  2. Click Calls.

Call records in the Web App may no longer be available after you sign out.
