Caller ID & Privacy

Control which caller ID number recipients see when outbound calls are made from a 2talk number.

Caller ID & Privacy controls what number recipients see when you make outbound calls from a 2talk number. You can show your own number, show another number on your account, or block your caller ID.

Caller ID options

  • A number on my account: Display another number from your account as the outbound caller ID.
  • My number: Display the number you are calling from.
  • Block my number: Hide your number on outgoing calls.

The number you present can also affect the caller ID name shown to recipients, depending on carrier lookup behavior and the number configuration.

Change Caller ID & Privacy settings

  1. Log in to your 2talk account.
  2. Go to Switchboard.
  3. Select the number you want to configure.
  4. Go to Outbound > Caller ID & Privacy.
  5. Select the caller ID option you want to use.
  6. Click Save.

Optional announcement

You can enable an announcement that plays back when you dial out using shortcode keys such as *65 or *67. This is useful if you switch between showing your number and blocking your caller ID.
