Heartbeat

Enable Heartbeat to run a basic ICMP connectivity check between 2talk and your network.

Heartbeat provides a basic ICMP connectivity check between 2talk and your network. It is useful for seeing general reachability, but it may not catch short packet-loss events unless they persist long enough to be measured.

Enable Heartbeat

  1. Log in to your 2talk account.
  2. Go to Tools > Heartbeat.
  3. Open Preferences.
  4. Enable Heartbeat for the network you want to monitor.

Allow ICMP on your router

Heartbeat requires your router or firewall to respond to ICMP ping.

  1. Open your router or firewall admin interface.
  2. Sign in with an administrator account.
  3. Open firewall, security, or access control settings.
  4. Allow ICMP or ping responses on the WAN interface.
  5. Save the change and reboot the router if required.

Only allow ICMP if it fits your security policy.
