Preserve CLI

Enable Preserve CLI so forwarded calls show the original caller ID instead of the forwarding number.

Preserve CLI keeps the original caller ID visible when a call is forwarded. Without Preserve CLI, the final destination may see the forwarding number instead of the original caller.

Enable Preserve CLI

  1. Log in to your 2talk account.
  2. Go to Switchboard.
  3. Select the number you want to configure.
  4. Go to Inbound > Preserve CLI.
  5. Turn Preserve CLI On.
  6. Click Save.

Example

  1. Jack calls Wendy.
  2. Wendy has call forwarding enabled to Roger.
  3. With Preserve CLI enabled, Roger sees Jack’s caller ID.
  4. Without Preserve CLI, Roger may see Wendy’s caller ID instead.
