Add Numbers

Add new voice, fax, or Microsoft Teams numbers to your 2talk account and assign a plan.

Every call flow on 2talk starts with a phone number, whether you want a simple line for a single phone or a sophisticated route with auto attendant, call queue, and after-hours schedules. This article shows how to add a new number to your account.

Add a number

  1. Log in to your 2talk account.
  2. Go to Switchboard > Add Number.
  3. Choose an Area Code, then pick a number from the list.
  4. Set Number Type to one of Voice, Fax, or MS Teams.
  5. Choose an available Plan.
  6. Click Add.

Note: the number is billed to your account according to the plan you select.

Other ways numbers reach your account

  • Porting: ported numbers appear in Switchboard automatically once the port completes. You don’t need to add them manually.
  • User access: once a number is on your account, you can grant team members either full Admin access or restricted User access to that number only.
  • Feature lines: internal-only extensions that can place outbound calls but aren’t reachable from the PSTN. They’re a cost-effective way to add Simultaneous Ring, Call Forwarding, Call Queuing, and after-hours greetings without buying a public phone number for every seat.
