Hunt Group

Configure a hunt group to ring up to 10 phone lines in order until an inbound call is answered.

A hunt group sends inbound calls from one number to a list of up to 10 phone lines. The lines ring in the order you set, with a timeout for each step.

Use a hunt group when calls should try one person or device first, then move to the next destination if the call is not answered.

Set up a hunt group

  1. Log in to your 2talk account.
  2. Go to Switchboard.
  3. Select the number you want to update.
  4. Select Inbound > Hunt Group.
  5. Add each destination number in the order calls should ring.
  6. Set the timeout for each destination.
  7. Click Save.

Active

Choose when the hunt group is active. Common options include all times, work hours, outside work hours, available hours, and user-defined hours.

Hunt group order

Each destination can have its own timeout before the call moves to the next number. The default timeout is 10 seconds.

Use Add to include another destination. The list always runs in sequence, so put the most important destination first.

A hunt group can affect other inbound features for the same number. Review the call flow priority if voicemail, simultaneous ring, or another inbound feature is also enabled.
